Heather Locklear has been going through a tough time. In June, the Melrose Place star checking into a long-term treatment facility for mental health and other issues. She’s back on Instagram and seems to be in recovery, but family and fans alike are still worried.
Domestic Violence and More
The actress sought help after having multiple public meltdowns. In late June, she attacked an EMT and a police officer who reported to a disturbance at her house. A few hours later, she was hospitalized for what appears to be a drug overdose.
When Heather is released from treatment, she’ll be charged with 3 misdemeanors. The new charges are in addition to 4 counts of battery and 1 count of resisting an officer, stemming from an incident that happened in February of this year when Heather was once again arrested for domestic violence against her boyfriend, Chris Heisser.
Both Heather and Heisser have accused each other of domestic violence. The pair have caused multiple incidents during drunken fights, but the February incident was the worst that we know of. She narrowly escaped felony charges that time, but she may still face legal consequences for her attack on the EMT in June.
Addiction Is Ferocious
Heather opened up on Instagram about her struggles. The 56-year-old has endured a life-long battle with addiction and mental health issues. “Addiction is ferocious and will try to take you down. Recovery is the best revenge,” she wrote on Instagram this Wednesday. “Be kind to everyone you meet, your light just might change their path.”
The post was inspired by someone close to her named Josh, who seems to have passed away recently after losing his own fight against addiction.
